It is crucial that we first get on the same page with the affiliate marketing strategy we will be using to generate consistent revenue. The affiliate blueprint discussed in lesson 1.4 will be expanded upon in this module. The main objective is to create an affiliate site that can organically recommend affiliate products to generate revenue. The best way to achieve this is through search engine optimization (SEO) to drive consistent and free traffic to your site.

SEO Traffic in Three Steps

The general process to attain SEO traffic will follow three basic steps. The first step is to perform affiliate keyword research to find topics that are relevant to your affiliate site and are frequently searched for. The second step involves the creation of relevant content that people want to see when searching for these products. The third step is to acquire backlinks to these pages, which will help to rank them higher in Google search results and gain the needed traffic flow to your pages. Following these technical and creative procedures will lead to achieving your end result, which is consistent revenue.

Choosing a Niche and Sub-Niche

The overall strategy of the affiliate marketing process involves choosing a niche and sub-niche that have enough variety and depth to be profitable. For instance, you might choose golf as your main niche and putting as the sub-niche. You would then cover all aspects of putting before moving to the next sub-niche. The same principle would apply to fitness equipment as the main niche and dumbbells as the sub-niche. Under the sub-niche of dumbbells, you would cover everything related to dumbbells, from the best dumbbell sets to the best dumbbells for home. You become the authority of dumbbells in the eyes of visitors, which leads to higher conversions and better results with search engines that drive traffic.

Creating the Web of Content

Assuming your content is excellent, you establish your site to be the authority site of dumbbells for visitors, which will aid in conversions and search engines. By covering hundreds or even thousands of dumbbell-related content, you can become an authority site, not just an affiliate site. Creating a massive web of related content becomes the foundation to not just a successful affiliate site but also a robust and profitable business that can surpass your affiliate marketing goals.
